Group Eight normally has its AGM early in January but we have decided to defer the AGM this year until we can all meet physically. The Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer have all agreed to remain in office until a date when we can all get together in person.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we had to postpone both Spring and Christmas Productions this year.
However, fear not! In order to fill this void, we have been busily working away in the background and have been getting together via Zoom also in order to find ways to still entertain you from afar.
We are pleased to announce the launch of our new YouTube Channel, which you will find here. We created this at the start of October and we have already posted some videos there and have many plans that we will be putting into action very, very shortly and have the following topics to work with…What could possibly go wrong.
We have been busy posting readings, songs and playlets which are all well worth a look.
Rehearsals for our Spring Play ‘Bunch of Amateurs’ written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman will be getting under way on Zoom soon. The play will be directed by Alan Campbell.

Within the Group there is a lot of talent in all areas of drama production. But there is always room for new members to join our friendly, sociable group of young, and maybe not so young, people seeking recreation through drama.
Areas you might like to get involved in are: On Stage, Backstage, Set Build and Design, Costume, Sound and Lighting, Front of House or Promotions and Ticket Sales.
Anyone who is interested in joining or would just like to know more about the group can contact the group by any of the methods listed on our Contact US Pagehereon our website.
Thanks to the generosity of Hackleton Parish Council, South Northamptonshire Council, and the Hackleton and District WI we can now announce that we have been given grants which will largely cover buying new stage extensions to replace the boxes we built many years ago and which are beginning to wear out.
During the current lockdown starting this project is going to be a challenge, but we hope to get the work underway as soon as we can.
Thank you from Group Eight to all those involved in granting us the funding for this work.
