Thank You

Thank you to everyone who came along to see A Bunch of Amateurs this May. The cast really enjoyed performing for you and we hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did.

We look forward to seeing you again for our next production which will be a Pantomime in early December. The play has yet to be chosen but we will post details here when we choose one.

Rehearsals all done!

The last rehearsal has taken place and the cast and crew are all ready to hit the boards with an audience in the hall on Thursday 5th May.

We are all looking forwards to welcoming you all to see the play. It has been a work of love by the Director who read the play over two years ago and immediately wanted to put it on. Sadly though it was rehearsed last year it had to be cancelled at the last minute as Covid Regulations were not lifted in time for the performances.

But we are are now ready and Group Eight will be presenting ‘Bunch of Amateurs’ three times this week (Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th). Tickets available online here or you may pay on the door. All performances curtain up at 19:45.

Some arty photos below of the cast at the final dress rehearsal.

Rehearsals well under way!

Cast working hard at rehearsal whilst the Director seems to have time to mess around and stick his tongue out!! Cast are getting to grips with their characters so we can look forward to a great set of performances.

The Director showing his ‘serious’ side.

Little Red Riding Hood

Group Eight are pleased to have finally got back on stage and had a great time performing Paul Reakes f Little Red Riding Hood. Thank you to all who came along and supported us!

Best Wishes,
Group Eight

Bunch of Amateurs is Postponed

Sorry! We have had to cancel the scheduled performances of A Bunch of Amateurs due to take place on Thursday 24th JuneFriday 25th June and Saturday 26th June at Hackleton Village Hall. All those who booked tickets online via Ticket Source should receive refunds to method you used to pay in the near future.

The team involved in the production are sad that they had to make this decision but after the Government failed to lift the Covid lockdown on June 21st the team met and decided that as they would have to present the production under the current guidance for shared community facilities it would not be practicable to proceed. This is because complying with the guidance would spoil the theatrical experience for both audience and cast.

Although we have had to cancel the planned performances the production team is determined that the play will be presented at a later date. Rehearsals had been going well, and everyone thinks that the play is a good one. We now have to contact the agency licencing the play to see when we can move our license to. Keep an eye on this website, Facebook or the Parish Mag and we will let you know when we have new dates. These are likely to be early in 2022.

In the meantime Group Eight hope that the lockdown is released soon so that we can get on with getting a pantomime on stage in December. More news on that later in the summer.
